My Small Town World

If you’ve read my debut novel, The Unexpected Fix, Clover, SC is the primary location. And while I’m sure Clover sounds like a made up town, it’s not! Clover is my actual hometown, and it’s as small as it sounds. We really are about an hour from the closest BMW dealership and there really is a beautiful lake and lake house that I describe on Lake Wylie. Of course I took creative liberties with parts of my small town world, but many landmarks, street names and neighboring towns are very real. Even the Italian restaurant I wrote about for their first date was a real place in Gastonia, NC, called Villa Roma. The Angelo’s Feast that I mentioned Parker ordering was an actual menu item and it really was two plates! I’m sad to report that between the writing of the book and it’s publication, the restaurant that had been there my entire life closed it’s doors for good after the owner passed away.
